Birmingham Sustainability Plan POP-UP
Harmony & Heritage Festival @ Arlington House
May 17, 2025

Pop-up Recap: Harmony & Heritage Festival - Arlington History House

The Birmingham Sustainability Plan team joined the Harmony & Heritage Festival to introduce the planning effort to community members and raise awareness about what sustainability means for Birmingham. Through conversations and an interactive activity, residents shared their priorities and voiced the challenges they see in their neighborhoods.

Festival attendees participated in a Sustainability Challenges & Opportunities “Dot-Voting” activity that highlighted key sustainability issues drawn from existing conditions research. This hands-on engagement helped spark meaningful dialogue and provided early insight into the concerns that matter most to the community.

This pop-up event was a valuable early step in building relationships, gathering input, and encouraging community members to stay involved in shaping a more sustainable Birmingham.

The Birmingham Trail Events
April 26, 2025

The BSP supported the Rails to Trails Conservancy and partners from across Alabama on April 26th for a day of events celebrating Alabama's trails. We explored Birmingham's trails and celebrated Alabama's vision for trails and outdoor recreation as an economic powerhouse—creating new jobs, attracting talent, inspiring entrepreneurs and generating new investment in the state.

Birmingham Sustainability Plan (BSP) supported and participated in this event.
